Will I be able to meditate successfully? Is previous experience needed to learn Vedic Meditation?
Yes, anyone can learn Vedic Meditation. It's suitable for all personalities and abilities. You don't need previous experience or a particular lifestyle, and you can meditate anywhere as long as you can sit comfortably with your back supported and close your eyes. No special room, complete silence, rigid postures, or props are required.

I've tried other meditation techniques, and they've been too difficult. How is Vedic Meditation different?
Vedic Meditation is known for being an effortless technique. Most types of meditation require concentration or contemplation, which keeps the mind active. In Vedic Meditation, we spontaneously de-excite the mind and body by correctly and effortlessly using a personalized mantra given during the course. The result is reaching deep levels of rest and bliss, which, in turn, releases accumulated stress.
This meditation technique was created specifically for householders—busy people who interact with the modern world.

What is the course fee?
If, after attending an online or in-person intro talk, you decide to learn to meditate, there is a one-time course fee based on a sliding scale. During our Intro Talk, I’ll explain the sliding scale in detail.
It is a time-honored tradition that to receive something of value, we must give something of value.

Is it religious?
No, people of all races and religions practice Vedic Meditation. It’s a technique that provides immediate and sustained benefits by allowing the mind and body to rest and release stress. Many cultures throughout the world once practiced meditation, but the practice was lost over time. In India, it was preserved through the master-disciple lineage. Vedic Meditation comes from the Veda, a 5,000-year-old body of knowledge. Like yoga and Ayurveda, people of all religions and races practice this type of meditation.

What is the relationship between Vedic Meditation and “Transcendental Meditation,” as taught and promoted by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi?
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was a revered spiritual teacher from the Shankaracharya lineage of the Vedic tradition.
I teach Vedic Meditation and was trained to teach this form of meditation by Thom Knoles. Thom was trained as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation (TM) by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (Maharishi) and taught it for over 25 years with organizations affiliated with Maharishi. Since 1997, Thom has continued to teach this meditation independently, using the term “Vedic Meditation.” I teach Vedic Meditation independently and separately from TM organizations and am not affiliated with those organizations.
